Communications Associate


We are seeking a communications associate to drive awareness and encourage engagement with our mission. CyArk has completed work on over 200 sites on all seven continents. This role is designed to leverage CyArk’s existing multimedia library to create visually stunning and captivating content for our growing audience. The selected candidate will create images and videos for the CyArk website, social media channels and newsletter while supporting traditional media inquiries and coverage. The candidate will also coordinate with the CyArk field and production teams to provide real time updates to share the excitement of CyArk’s international work.

Responsibilities
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to develop engaging content.
• Analyze performance of published media to optimize results
• Select and edit photographs and videos
• Develop and organize content for inclusion in our quarterly newsletter
• Write creative copy for a wide variety of platforms
• Create new videos using existing multimedia
• Coordinate with other members of the team on priorities as needed


Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, English, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong aesthetic eye for photo and video
• Extensive experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin.
• Strong video editing skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience with Adobe Creative suite
• Passion for cultural heritage and history

Geospatial Analyst (6 month contract)


We are seeking a geospatial/ GIS expert to assist in the geolocation of LiDAR and photogrammetric data from CyArk’s existing data archive. The Analyst will develop content which can be shared through an online maps API, to allow users to access georeferenced data from 200 discrete cultural heritage sites across all 7 continents.


Responsibilities
• Perform data conversion
• Develop and maintain GIS graphic files and associated databases
• Research, create and produce maps and displays
• Coordinate with other members of the team on priorities as needed

Requirements
Working with high-precision, photorealistic 3D datasets requires comfort using high-end data processing workstations and professional 2D / 3D CAD and modeling software applications. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their desire and aptitude to learn a variety of software in a complex workflows.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information System (GIS), geography, engineering, planning or related field required.
• Experience in mapping and GIS
• Strong working knowledge of ArcGIS, AutoCAD Map 3D and/or equivalent GIS program
• Passion for CyArk’s mission
• Strong communication skills

Open Heritage Internship (3 month volunteer position)


We are seeking a summer intern to assist the programs and development team in expanding the number of heritage sites available through CyArk’s Open Heritage program. The intern will conduct research on past CyArk projects to include in the program, summarize significant features and describe how CyArk’s work supported conservation needs at a variety of cultural heritage sites around the world. Research will draw from scholarly sources and CyArk’s existing records.


Responsibilities
• Conduct research on and develop summaries of significant World Heritage sites
• Construct a narrative to present a site as well as CyArk’s work on the site
• Organize images, maps and resulting data surrounding the sites into a presentation format
• Coordinate with other members of the team on priorities as needed


Requirements
Working with high-precision, photorealistic 3D datasets requires comfort using high-end data processing workstations and professional 2D / 3D CAD and modeling software applications. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their desire and aptitude to learn a variety of software in a complex workflows.
