Producer - Virtual Experiences


At CyArk, we are on a mission to unlock the power of 3D technology to make the world’s cultural heritage accessible to new audiences and future generations. This includes pioneering new ways of storytelling through the creation of Tapestry virtual experiences. We seek a dynamic and creative Producer to lead the development of these mixed media stories, combining advanced 3D modeling with structured narratives, firsthand accounts, and historical documents, all presented within an interactive framework that encourages exploration. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, history, and art, bringing to life place-based stories that engage and inspire audiences around the world.

CyArk is a fully remote organization with our primary working hours aligned with United States Pacific Coast time. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States with substantial availability during CyArk's working hours (8-5 PM Pacific Time).

Responsibilities:


Project Leadership: Oversee all aspects of Tapestry experience production from concept to completion, including initial brainstorming, storyboarding, pre-production, fieldwork coordination, post-production and publishing.
Client and Partner Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between CyArk and a diverse range of clients and external partners, including government officials, site managers, academics and community stakeholders. Demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of various perspectives and the ability to foster inclusive storytelling.
Creative Direction: Maintain creative oversight on projects, ensuring that the storytelling vision is realized while also managing the logistical aspects of production.
Content Development: Lead portions of the content development process including script writing, development of interview questions, editing interviews and sourcing additional multimedia to supplement the story.
Team Coordination: Facilitate collaboration across internal teams, including business development, field operations, and data processing, to ensure seamless project execution. Additional coordination with outside contractors for voice-over and translation.
Project Management: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Technical Proficiency: Utilize basic skills in audio and video editing, image processing, and database management to drive the production process.
Communication: Exhibit excellent communication skills to effectively interface with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.

Required Qualifications


Storytelling: Proven experience in producing stories across various mediums such as photography, text, film, and game design. Preference for candidates who have worked on mixed media or digital storytelling projects.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of external partners and internal teams.
Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrated sensitivity towards different cultures and the ability to listen and incorporate the perspectives of historically marginalized groups into storytelling.
Project Management: Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and coordinate between multiple internal and external teams.
Technical Skills: Basic video editing and image processing skills, along with competency in database management
Travel: Must be able to travel occasionally domestically and internationally as needed for projects
Education: A degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience in production, media, or storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications


Language: Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, as projects may involve multilingual experiences.
Software: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premier, Photoshop etc), Google Suite and SketchFab

Compensation and Work Schedule


Salary: $60K/yr -$80K/yr
Benefits:CyArk offers an excellent benefits package, including: a generous vacation policy, medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement and company holidays.
Hours: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include Weekends, evenings, domestic (US) and International Travel. Hours are somewhat flexible but you must be generally available between 9 am and 2 pm PST.
