CyArk Rushmore Project Featured in UK Guardian and New Zealand Herald

Correction: CyArk Was Not Involved in the Documentation of Roman Catacombs

CyArk has recently received press for our upcoming digital preservation of Mount Rushmore in the UK's Guardian, The New Zealand Herald, and on NewsCred. We are pleased with the great coverage but would like to address a common mistake in all three articles.

The articles all state that CyArk began work earlier this year scanning the 170km of catacombs underneath Rome. This is incorrect. While we did write an article about this effort, we are not responsible for this exciting project. Instead, documentation of the catacombs has been spearheaded by Dr. Norbert Zimmerman of the Vienna Academy of Science.

Our original post, "Laser Scanning the Underworld of Rome" is still live, and more information can be found in the BBC News article "Shedding light on the Catacombs of Rome".
