Busanyin Shrine, Osun Osogbo

In 2021, CyArk provided a training focused on how 3D recording technologies can be used to document cultural heritage sites. Over two weeks, Nigerian heritage professionals and CyArk staff documented the Busanyin shrine which was damaged by severe flooding in 2019. The Busanyin shrine is located on the banks of the Osun River within the Sacred Grove of Osun Osogbo. The sacred grove is home to hundreds of monumental works of art depicting Yoruba deities and folklore and welcomes visitors from around the world who come to connect with the history and traditional cultural practices of this region.
