Deadwood

This former gold rush town attracted miners and the lawless likes of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok. Because of the canyon location surrounded by pine trees, Deadwood is a natural site for reoccurring wildfires. Because the city is constantly at risk, the Deadwood historic society decided to preserve its historic district through laser scanning documentation.
