The Folger stands in Washington, DC, a block from the US Capitol, and serves a wide audience of scholars, visitors, teachers, students, families, and theater- and concert-goers. Designed by Paul Philippe Cret in collaboration with Emily and Henry Folger, the building opened in 1932. Its art deco exterior features a fountain sculpture of “Puck” by Brenda Putnam and nine Shakespeare scenes by John Gregory.
