Un Viaje por el Qhapaq Ñan

The Journey Along the Qhapaq Ñan: Fostering Cultural Heritage Protection Through Place Based Storytelling program was supported through the Ambassadors Fund For Cultural Preservation. The project is designed to foster greater protection for the cultural heritage found along the Andean road system through the production and dissemination of three web-based interactive 3D experiences produced in conjunction with local partners. Local collaborators were trained to document cultural heritage sites and documented the sites of Ingapirca and Pumapungo in Ecuador and the Aypate Archaeological Complex in Peru. These datasets act as both as a comprehensive point-in-time inventory of the sites today as well as a canvas for storytelling and the basis for the educational guided tour experiences.
