Pauli Murray was a pioneering writer, labor and civil rights activist, legal scholar, feminist, priest, and life-long learner whose work shaped the civil rights landscape in the 20th century. Her childhood home was instrumental in shaping the person she became and provides a way for people to connect with an important historical figure. To bring this place to new audiences and share more about Pauli’s impact on the world, CyArk partnered with the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice to develop a Tapestry experience on the childhood home of Pauli Murray in Durham North Carolina. The final immersive experience provides expert and family perspectives on Pauli together with historic images and excerpts from Pauli’s own writing in an explorable 3D model of the home. This project was generously supported by Iron Mountain.
