Sydney Opera House

Australia

One of the most instantly recognizable structures in the world, the Sydney Opera House stands as an emblem of artistic excellence and modernism for Australia. Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, the Sydney Opera House was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 1973, and received UNESCO World Heritage status in 2007. The Opera House is the youngest cultural site to be included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
